Coming soon – Rogue Farms Oregon Single Malt Vodka, a small batch, hand made spirit that’s completely different than anything you’ve ever tried before.
Where a lot of distillers start with generic alcohol that you can literally buy by the truck load, we make our vodka from scratch.
Where does Oregon Single Malt Vodka come from? I can show you every place and every step along the way – from ground to glass.
We start here in the rich volcanic loess of Rogue Farms in Tygh Valley, Oregon. We plant the seeds of 2-row Risk™ malting barley in the fall and harvest the following summer. We were the first to grow malting barley in the area, so naturally all the experts told we were nuts to even try it. Now they’re telling us the Tygh Valley Appellation is some of the best malting barley growing terroir in the country.

The Farmstead Malt House
Our next stop in the ground to glass journey for Oregon Single Malt Vodka is the Farmstead Malt House. Mind you, we haven’t left the farm yet. In fact, the only thing standing between the barley field and the malt house is our orchard.
Here in the Farmstead Malt House, we floor malt and micro malt the Risk™ barley by hand in small batches. We see the grain, touch the grain and smell the grain as we steep it, germinate it, kiln it and bag it.
The Rogue Brewery
You’re probably wondering what a brewery has to do with making vodka. If you’re not going to buy generic spirits off the truck – then you’ve got to make your own mash. I ferment the mash for Oregon Single Malt Vodka at the Rogue Brewery in Newport, Oregon. When the malted barley comes in from Tygh Valley, we mill it and mash it with Free Range Coastal Water that comes from a nearby streams. Oregon grown barley and Oregon mountain water.
The House Of Spirits
When the mash is done, we hand truck it across the parking lot the Rogue House of Spirits. Now the distillers go to work, distilling the mash in the vodka column, purifying it through the charcoal filter and bottling it by hand.
The best way to know your ingredients is to grow them yourself. Here’s what we know about the ingredients in Rogue Farms Oregon Single Malt Whiskey.
