This month, we’re rolling out a brand new Rogue Spirits Cocktail Menu.
It’s a combination of classics gone Rogue, and soon-to-be classics created by our merry band of mixologists. During April, we’ll post some of the recipes each week. Here’s our first batch, all of which include our signature Rogue Spirits vodkas.
The Moscow Mule – Oregon Single Malt Vodka
According to legend, the Moscow Mule was invented by a couple of businessmen, one on the East Coast who wanted to drive up vodka sales, and other other on the West Coast who wanted to sell more ginger beer. They called it “Moscow” because back then, most people thought vodka came from Russia. Why they added “mule” is anyone’s guess. Maybe they adore alliterations.
Directions: Combine ice, vodka, and juice of lime wedges into an glass filled with ice. Top off with ginger beer and stir.
For A Change Of Pace: Swap out the ginger beer with orange ginger beer, and the lime with orange bitters, and you have what our mixologists call the Whiskey Mule. Why a Whiskey Mule when there’s no whiskey in it? Our guys didn’t see the need to explain themselves.
Bacon Blood Mary – Voodoo Bacon Maple Vodka
We’re bringing back one our favorites from the past, the bodacious Bacon Bloody Mary. The origins of the Bloody Mary are even more murky than the Moscow Mule. Some sources credit the New York Bar (later known as Harry’s Bar) in Paris, while others say it was invented in New York at the 21 Club.
Either way, we made it totally Roguish with the addition of our Voodoo Bacon Maple Vodka.
Bacon Bloody Mary
1.25 oz Voodoo Bacon Maple Vodka
4 oz bloody mary mix,
1 oz Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout
Garnish: Bacon Slice, Peppers
Directions: Add vodka and bloody mary mix to glass, stir and top off with 1oz of Shakespeare Stout. Add Garnish.
