Rogue Spirits Drinks (RED) to #86AIDS

Join Rogue Ales and Spirits this June as we bring the Revolution to the global fight against HIV and AIDS.

Throughout June, Rogue Ales and Spirits turns RED as we raise money and awareness for the fight against AIDS. The disease was discovered 29 years ago – June of 1981. We’re taking part in the Eat RED Drink RED Save Lives campaign to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.

We’re fighting AIDS with fire, a spicy RED menu that includes a Rogue version of a Sazerac Cocktail and pairing it with Sriracha Stout Wings. Proceeds will benefit the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS. You’ll only find it at the Rogue Distillery and Public House in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon.

Add your voice, too. Every time you order off our RED menu, spread the word via social media using the #86AIDS hashtag, and see how the rest of the world is joining in the cause.

In restaurant lingo, to 86 something means to remove it from the menu. The #86AIDS hashtag calls upon us to get rid of AIDS once and for all.

Here’s the cocktail we created specially for #86AIDS. The traditional Sazerac goes Rogue with a couple dashes of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce. Rogue Spirits Oregon Rye Whiskey meets the spice of Sriracha and the sweetness of absinthe or anise for a unique collision of flavors.

Rogue Sriracha Sazerac Cocktail

Muddle sugar cube at the bottom of a shaker pint in bitters until dissolved. Add Sriracha Sauce and Oregon Rye Whiskey. Shake.

Rinse an old fashioned glass with absinthe or anise liqueur. Add a large ice cube. Strain the Sriracha and Whiskey over the ice into the old-fashioned glass. Add lemon twist and serve.
