When we started Rogue Farms in Independence, Oregon back in 2008, one thing we didn’t count on was the ghosts.
Turns out that Independence is one of the most haunted towns in the state, filled with enough ghost stories to send a chill up your spine 365 nights a year, but especially on Halloween.
There’s Lenora, a 15-year old girl who regularly visits one of the local restaurants. Back in WWI, the building was a hotel and Lenora was one of the residents. On a fateful night, Lenora received a telegram that her fiancé would not be returning from the battlefield.
Despondent, this daughter of a hop grower jumped through a skylight and fell to the floor of the lobby. Her bloodstain remains embedded in the wood nearly 100 years later.
So each Halloween we toast Lenora and all the other spirits that visit our fair town with a Dead Guy Glow Cocktail. It’s made with our Dead Guy Whiskey and Dead Guy Ale. And this time of year, the bottles GLOW in the dark.
DEAD GUY GLOW COCKTAIL
1.5 oz. Dead Guy Whiskey
.75 oz. Aperol
.75 oz. Simple Syrup
1.5 oz. fresh Lemon juice
3 oz. Dead Guy Ale
