Get a Barrel’s-Eye View of Rogue Spirits

Have you ever wondered what a batch of whiskey is up to in during the years it spends in a barrel?

At Rogue Spirits in Newport, cooper Nate Lindquist and distiller Jake Holshue (or Level 10 Spirits Wizard, if you prefer) created a vessel that allows visitors to literally watch whiskey age by the sea.

The heads of this barrel were replaced with clear plexiglass so everyone can see our Dead Guy Whiskey evolve as it takes on complex flavors and colors from the Oregon oak barrel. If you visit next week and again in a year, you can spy on the same barrel of whiskey and see how it’s changed.

Because watching whiskey age is way more fun than watching paint dry.
