Free Beer Friday with Friends

We brought the beer to the Woodblock Chocolate party

It's always nice to bring something when you visit your neighbors, right? That's why when we dropped by to see Woodblock Chocolate to get a sneak peek of their soon-to-be-open storefront, we brought them some beer to complement their tasty chocolate.

Charley Wheelock and the smell of roasting cocoa beans greeted us at the door when we arrived.

We delivered a mixed case of stouts, including Shakespeare Stout (which pairs perfectly with Woodblock's Single Origin Madagascar), Chocolate Stout (a good pairing for their Dark Milk Bar) and Double Chocolate Stout (a nice partner for their Salted Nibs Bar). A bottle of Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout, a beer we brewed with ingredients we grew ourselves and aged in barrels we built ourselves that had been soaked in whiskey we distilled ourselves, also made it into the case for good measure.

Charley graciously showed us around the storefront on NE 17th just above NE Broadway, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how they roast and craft their chocolate from bean to bar.

Here's to Charley and the rest of the Woodblock Chocolate peeps who welcomed us today. Cheers, friends.
