Rogue Farms See Floods & Snow in Oregon

It’s been a busy few weeks for the weather here in Oregon.

At our farm in Independence, Ore., where we grow hops, hazelnuts, pumpkins, jalapeños and other beer & spirits ingredients, excessive rain has resulted in a state of emergency.

The Willamette River rose high enough to flood the hopyard and road leading to the Rogue Farms tasting room this past weekend and more flooding is on the way.

Flood waters are expected to persist through Christmas.

The tasting room at the farm in Independence will remain closed until further notice.

Meanwhile at our barley farm in Tygh Valley, Ore., a winter storm dropped 6–8 inches of snow over our barley. It’s actually good news for the winter crop since it’s been so dry this year.

Wind and rain has also been ravaging the coast but the brewery is still safe.
