A portion of the proceeds from Hot Tub Scholarship Lager fund the Jack Joyce Scholarship and continue to support fermentation science students at Oregon State University.
A German-style Helles Lager, Hot Tub Scholarship Lager is not only a refreshing brew for the end of summer, it's also a good way to help those college students returning to school this fall -- specifically fermentation science students at Oregon State University. Every time you buy a can or pint, you're helping fund the Jack Joyce Scholarship, named in honor of our founder.
After Jack Joyce passed away in 2014, we established the scholarship with Columbia Distributing. Four years later, Hop Valley Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project, Coleman Agriculture, National Beer Wholesalers Association, Fremont Brewing Company, 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Tri-S, John I. Hass, Gopher Kegs, Ss Brewtech, the Beer Institute, Great Western Malting Co., KG Specialties, Saxco International LLC, Indie Hops LLC, Georgia-Pacific and Umpqua Bank -- among other partners -- have helped us give away $245,000.
Last year alone, we were proud to award a total of $60,000 to six Oregon State students.
The beer earned its name not only from Jack's fondness for hot tubs but also because one of the first Jack Joyce Scholarship recipients went Rogue and used part of his funds to buy himself a hot tub (after he bought everything he needed for school, of course).
We raise a pint to that Rogue and to all future fermenters. Join us: find Hot Tub Scholarship Lager near you.
