Newport, OR- Rogue Ales is partnering with All about Beer Magazine to support Beer Autism Hope for the first annual Hop Courage Great American Homebrew Contest. Registration just opened with a deadline of March 10th and judging on March 21 in Los Angeles, California. The contest benefits the Beer Autism Hope Movement, a cause that gives to the autism community and charitable causes within craft brewing.  Beer Hope Autism was started in honor of Lance Rice, a beer historian with autism.

Last year, during his 30,000 mile brewery tour of the United States, the Revolution welcomed Lance to our World Headquarters in Newport, Oregon. He got to tour the Newport brewery and chat with Rogue Brewmaster John Maier. Lance’s passion for beer started when he was only 16 and he has been collecting beer since 1976. A true Rogue, it is Lance’s courage and passion that has inspired the Revolution.

“We are proud to embrace our homebrewing roots while supporting a good cause,” says Brett Joyce, President of Rogue Ales. ” Our brewmaster of 25 years, John Maier was named National Homebrewer of the Year in 1988 and we’re honored to continue our relationship with the homebrewing community by sponsoring the first Hop Courage homebrew competition.”
