A Day For Stout Lovers

I would give all my fame for a pot of stout. – Wm. Shakespeare.

Since today is International Stout Day, please join us with a glass of Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout in a toast to the Bard and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

When Rogue was founded in Ashland, Oregon in 1988, this small town at the base of the SIskiyou Mountains had already established a world class reputation in the dramatic arts.

Since 1935 the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has drawn thousands of visitors from around the world for its performances of the classics, like Shakespeare, to modern day musicals and contemporary dramas.

Rogue wanted to honor the hard work of our friends and neighbors and so we created Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout.  We poured our hearts into creating a stout that would be worthy of the Bard and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. All we were trying to do was to make a good beer, what happened next was a complete surprise.

Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout has earned dozens of awards at national and international beer festivals and accolades amongst the international stout community.  It was twice named World’s Best Oatmeal Stout by the World Beer Awards and was ranked 3rd in The 50 Greatest Beers in the World, by Stuart A. Kallen.

Ebony in color with a rich creamy head, earthy flavor and a mellow, chocolate finish.

10 INGREDIENTS: 2-Row, C120, Chocolate and Rogue Farms Dare™ & Risk™ Malts; Rogue Farms Rebel Hops; Rolled Oats, Roasted Barley, Free Range Coastal Water & Pacman Yeast.

Shakespeare Stout is grown from sprout to stout.

In 2014 we began offering Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout for the first time in six-packs, saying “All good things come in small packages.” We could just as easily have said good things also come from small towns whether it’s world class Shakespeare or world class beer.
