Rogue Public House, Eugene, OR
Crusty Coastal IPA
Release Date: On Tap Now

We had a good turnout at the Rogue Public House in Eugene when the Cascade Brewers Society tapped Crusty Coastal IPA.

This is a big and hoppy beer that was dry hopped with Amarillo hops. CSB homebrews have been selling out fast, so if you want a taste of Crusty get here right away.

What’s next? How about a SMASH? That stands for Single Malt And Single Hop beer. CBS members came in over the weekend to craft a SMASH, an American Pale ale made with all Vienna Malt and all Amarillo hops. Happily fermenting away, they’re calling it A Smashing Pale Ale - at least for now.

OG is coming in at 1.056 and the IBUs are 50. We’ll let you know when it’s ready to tap.

Issaquah Brewhouse, Issaquah, Washington
Saison Du Sol
Release Date: Monday, May 14th

The Impaling Alers homebrew club spent the weekend thinking of summer as they brewed their newest beer, Saison Du Sol.

Craft in the age-old tradition of southern Belgium, this golden brew is meant to be refreshing in the hot summer months.  Hints of fruit, spice and citrus dance brightly across the tongue as the Pilsner malt softly engulfs the palate with a refreshingly dry finish.

So while it’s not summer yet, try some Saison Du Sol when it goes on tap and you’ll believe summer is right around the corner.

Big taste comes from tiny breweries.

Which is why Rogue Ales collaborates with homebrewers in Oregon and Washington to craft unique beers on Rogue’s Nano brewing systems in Issaquah, Eugene and the Green Dragon in southeast Portland.

Rogue supplies top of the line equipment, the ingredients and then gets out of the way so the homebrewers are free to create. They make it - we sell it - and beer fans get the chance to taste new and innovative brews that are unlike anything else. The proceeds go back to the clubs. But homebrewers also get the satisfaction of brewing something new and then seeing it slide across the bar into the hands of an appreciative customer paying cold, hard cash.

Rogue supports homebrewing because that’s how many of us got started.  Brewmaster John Maier was an American Homebrewers Association’s Homebrewer of the Year. Rogue’s Hazelnut Brown Nectar was created by homebrewer Chris Studach of the Cascade Brewers Society and has won nine awards for World Championship Brown Ale. The Great American Nano Fest is held annually outside the Green Dragon and Buckman Botanical Brewery.
